PPO Dental Plan

So many of you are fixated on finding PPO dental plans. You hang up before I can say two words. You really need to understand what a scam dental insurance can be and why it is not the best option for everyone

1. PPO dental plans usually make you wait a full year before they will cover major work.
2. The expensive stuff gets covered at 50%.
3. Once you use up the annual allowance, the PPO discount is gone. They sock you with full costs on everything. They shouldn't but they do.
4. The cost of coverage is so high on some plans that unless you are able to max out the benefits for a few years, you pay more in than you get out.

We have a group plan that is fairly inexpensive. A single employee can get $1500 of coverage for about $22 a month. If you hold on to a plan like this and do need some major work in year two and thereafter, the plan can be worthwhile. Especially since you can go to any dentist you want. Put this together with a discount plan and you will have a great combination.
